Introduction
Dice Party is a Fun Side LLC product (also known as ALXPCK, SKP Media). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Dice Party Discord bot, web dashboards, APIs, and related services (“Services”). By using Dice Party you agree to these Terms and to do right by the rest of the community. If anything is unclear please reach out.
Relationship with Fun Side LLC
Fun Side LLC is the legal entity behind Dice Party. When these Terms mention “we,” “our,” or “us,” that’s who they mean. If anything here conflicts with the Fun Side LLC Terms of Service, those master terms control, but this document explains how they apply specifically to Dice Party.
Your Privacy Matters
We take privacy seriously. Dice Party follows the Fun Side LLC Privacy Policy, plus the Dice Party-specific privacy practices described on our Privacy page. We collect only the data needed to run the service — session recordings, transcripts, billing contacts, and Discord OAuth details — and we never sell your data. We rely on trusted partners like AssemblyAI, Anthropic, DigitalOcean, Stripe, and Discord to provide features. See the Privacy Policy for specifics.
Accounts & Security
- Discord login. Dice Party currently uses Discord OAuth. Keep your Discord credentials private and notify us of suspicious activity.
- Authorized users only. Only server owners or people with permission in a Discord guild should invite the bot. You are responsible for how Dice Party is used on your server.
- Lawful and respectful use. Do not use the Services to violate intellectual property laws, harass other users, or record people without their consent. You are responsible for following local recording/consent laws.
Payments, Credits & Refunds
Dice Party is currently in a closed beta. We may comp usage or manually invoice early testers. Beta pricing invitations or Discord roles do not create a long-term contract, and we reserve the right to modify pricing before general availability.
Sessions are metered against a prepaid credit balance. Credits are denominated in dollars and metered at the current rate; any hours or sessions figure shown next to your balance is an estimate at current rates, never a guarantee of minutes. Payments are processed by Stripe, which handles card data directly.
- Purchased credits. Purchased credits are refundable while unused — reach out through Stripe/Link support or the Dice Party Discord and we will make it right.
- Temp (promotional) credits. Bonus credits we grant — purchase matches, trials, survey rewards — are a bonus on top of what you paid: they are non-refundable and expire on their stated date.
- Spend order. Temp credits are used first, before purchased credits, so your refundable balance is preserved as long as possible.
Third-Party Services
To run Dice Party we integrate with:
- Discord for authentication, slash commands, and message delivery.
- DigitalOcean for storage and hosting (Spaces, droplets, and managed Postgres).
- AssemblyAI for audio transcription (Deepgram for some older recordings).
- AI partners like Anthropic for AI-generated notes, campaign notes, and memory.
- Stripe for payments (once billing launches).
- Sentry for error monitoring.
These partners process limited data necessary to deliver the Services. Each third party has its own terms and privacy policies, and their behavior is outside our direct control.
Our task queues (Celery/Valkey/Redis) and Postgres database are our own infrastructure running on the DigitalOcean hosting above, not separate third parties.
Intellectual Property
Fun Side LLC owns the Dice Party software, designs, documentation, and branding. You own the campaign content and recordings generated while using the Services. By using Dice Party you grant us a limited license to process that content for operation of the service (e.g., transcription, AI summarization, storage, delivery back to Discord). We do not claim copyright in your stories.
Acceptable Use
- No illegal recordings, malware distribution, or attempts to break security controls.
- No use of the Services to train your own competing models without our consent.
- Respect Discord’s own community guidelines and terms.
Service Changes & Availability
Dice Party is under active development. We may add or remove features, run experiments, or pause functionality to maintain reliability. We strive for uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. If something breaks we will communicate through Discord status channels or email whenever possible.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Fun Side LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost data, lost profits, or interrupted play — arising from your use of Dice Party. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid to us in the previous 12 months (and for free beta testers, that means zero).
Termination
You may stop using Dice Party at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or put our systems/community at risk. We prefer to talk things out, but reserve the right to take immediate action when needed.
Governing Law & Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be heard in state or federal courts located in New York, NY.
